Summary
This site asks you for nothing. There are no forms, no sign-up and no cart. You read the page, and if you want to talk to us you call or message us on WhatsApp. The one thing we measure is how the page gets used, so we can tell which explanations help and which confuse. It is all set out below, with no fine print.
What is stored on your device
- Your theme preference (light or dark). Kept in your own browser's storage so the page looks the same next time. It never travels to a server and says nothing about you.
- Two measurement cookies,
_clckand_clsk, set by the Microsoft Clarity tool described below. They let us tell that pages opened one after another belong to the same visit. They are not advertising cookies and they are not handed to advertisers.
None of this identifies you by name. All of it disappears when you clear your browsing data.
How we see which pages help — Microsoft Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity, a measurement tool from Microsoft. It records where on the page you click, how far you scroll, and how you move your finger or cursor, and builds heatmaps and anonymous recordings of that path. We use it for one thing: to find where people get lost, and fix that part.
- The page's text is masked in those recordings, which is how the tool ships by default.
- Because this site has no forms at all, there is nothing here for you to type: no fields, so nothing you type can be recorded.
- We never ask for your name, your email or your number on any page.
- Microsoft processes this on our behalf, under its own privacy terms.
If you would rather not be measured, you do not have to ask us or dismiss a banner. Your browser can say it for you, and we obey it:
- If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal (or the older Do Not Track), the measurement never even loads. There is nothing to switch off because it was never switched on. You turn that signal on in your browser's privacy settings, or by installing an extension that sends it.
- You can also browse in a private window, or block
clarity.mswith your browser's tracking protection.
In all three cases the site works exactly the same: you lose no feature by declining to be measured. We do not use a cookie pop-up, because there is nothing for us to negotiate with you: if your browser says no, the answer is no.
The third parties that see something
- Microsoft, for the measurement described above, on every page.
- The Google map on the Contact page. When you open Contact, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, exactly as if you had opened Google Maps yourself. It happens on that page only.
- The call and WhatsApp buttons. These are not trackers — they open the phone app or WhatsApp on your device. From that moment your carrier's and WhatsApp's policies apply, not ours.
The site's fonts and images are served from our own server, not from Google or any other provider. That is why the list ends here.
Advertising
Today this site carries no Facebook pixel, no Google Analytics, and no Google or TikTok advertising tags. Nothing measured here is used to follow you around with ads. If we ever switch any of those on:
- We will name each tool here and say what it is for, before switching it on.
- You will see a notice on the site where you can accept or decline, and you can change your mind afterwards.
- We will honour your browser's Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser sends it, we treat it as a decline, with nothing further for you to do.
We do not sell or share your information
We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with third parties for marketing — not what this site sees, and not what you give us as a client in the office. That includes your phone number and your consent to text messages and calls, explained on Text Messages & Automated Calls.
Your rights
You may ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Since the site has no forms, you ask the ordinary way: call (773) 453-5555, email [email protected], or come by the office. Tax files carry their own retention rules that require us to keep them for a period even if you ask for deletion; we will explain that at the time.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
