Text Messages & Automated Calls
Summary
JD Tax & Accounting Corp sends text messages (SMS) and, in some cases, automated or prerecorded phone calls to clients who have agreed to receive them. This page explains what we send, how often, what it costs and how to stop it at any time. We do not sell or share your phone number with third parties for marketing.
Who sends the messages
JD Tax & Accounting Corp, 4012 W Armitage Ave, Chicago, IL 60639. Messages and calls come from the office number, (773) 453-5555. Every message identifies itself as “JD Tax”.
What we send
- Appointment reminders and confirmations.
- Updates on the status of your return or your filing.
- Requests for documents we still need to finish your case.
- A notice before tax season starts listing the documents to bring.
Messages are sent in English or Spanish, whichever you prefer. We do not send advertising for other companies.
How you sign up (your consent)
You are signed up in any of these ways:
- By signing the authorization on the intake form or on the signature pad when you visit the office.
- By texting the office number first.
- By replying YES, SI or START to one of our messages.
We record the date and the way you agreed. Agreeing to messages is never a condition of receiving our services.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies. It depends on how many appointments you have and how many cases you have open with us: we write when we confirm an appointment, when the status of your case changes, and when we are missing a document from you. During tax season (January 15 through April 30) there are usually more. If they ever feel like too many, reply STOP and they all stop.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply from your phone carrier. We charge you nothing for these messages.
How to stop the messages
Reply STOP, ALTO or PARAR to any of our messages. We will send one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and you will not receive any more. You may also ask us by phone, in person or by email.
How to get help
Reply HELP or AYUDA to any message, or call us at (773) 453-5555.
Automated phone calls
For the same purposes listed above — reminding you of an appointment or asking for a document — the office may place an automated or prerecorded voice call to the number you gave us. These calls are informational and about your own case; they are not advertising. Agreeing to these calls is likewise never a condition of receiving our services.
To make the calls stop, tell us in any of these ways:
- Tell any member of our staff, by phone or in person.
- Reply STOP, ALTO or PARAR to one of our text messages.
- Email us at [email protected].
- Follow the opt-out instruction the call itself gives, when it includes one.
One request stops both channels. If you ask us to stop texting, we also stop placing automated calls about the same subject, and the other way around. We apply it as soon as possible and never later than 10 business days.
A person from the office may still call you about your case; what stops is the automated call.
Your phone number
The phone number and the consent you give us for text messages and calls are not sold, not rented and not shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We use them only to contact you about your own services with the office, and we share them only with the telephone providers needed to deliver the message or the call.
Delivery
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. If an important message does not reach you, call us.
